This listing is for a complete rug hooking kit designed  and assembled by Sharon Perry.  This kit which is suitable for the beginner or seasoned rug hooker comes with the following items
100% wool fabric strips cut in #8 (1/4")
A  color photo of the finished piece along with the color key
Pattern drawn on a lovely cotton monks cloth
Easy to follow rug hooking instructions
Cotton rug binding to finish it off once you have it hooked
When completed  it measures 8 X 8  inches and would make a great wall hanging, candle or teapot mat, trivet,  or table centerpiece. Lots of people hang these little mats from country furniture or make small pillows out of them.  The crow is hooked with antique black and textured charcoal and the branch with mixed browns plaid. The background is done with heather blue, mustard plaid and gold herring bone. For a finishing touch I added a couple of rows of autumn plaid around the outer edge.
If this is your first project the only other things you will need are a frame to keep your pattern taut and a rug hook. I started off with a quilting hoop and did several rugs on that before switching to a floor frame. I think it's important to make sure you enjoy a hobby before spending a ton of money on supplies.
As for the hook I have solid hardwood and steel hooks listed for .50 but you can choose the option to add one to your kit for just .50 when you make your purchase.
